Recognizing Authentic Intuition
There are many definitions of intuition all of which are generally true such as a hunch, a gut feeling, or a quick and ready insight. One of the more concise definitions is “the immediate knowing of something without the conscious use of reasoning”. Whatever the definition, intuition manifests as the ability to process information, both internally and externally and make decisions. At no time in human history have we been so bombarded with so much information. We desperately need all of our faculties in order to make sense of both the external messages and how we interpret internally. Intuition can serve as the guide between these two. If our minds determine the quality of our lives rather than circumstances, then it would make good sense to train and use our entire mind. Intuition is the language of mind and heart. We are born with it. It is a practical and necessary tool for living and achieving what we need and desire.
So how can we learn to recognize authentic intuition and achieve a more intuitive life? Intuition is a whisper not a shout. It does not shout or compete to be heard. It can easily be forgotten or deliberately ignored. Moving on feeling is not necessarily intuitive nor does intuition always feel good. Sometimes it is a warning. It is not easy to trust this inner voice simply because we do not use it in the formative years or we become use to ignoring it in favor of instant gratification. Intuition will not force you to listen. Free will can override the best intuition. If it shows up often enough it is time to listen. True intuition will not harm you (or anyone else). Bad things do not come from good intuition. Real intuition speaks in repetition, often showing up in consistent messages, images, or even dreams. Authentic intuition just feels right when it is. The world just got sharper, clearer, and more real. When your intuition gives you a genuine answer there is a gentle and relaxed energy, completely in sync with who you are.
Intuition creates space in your life to move in new and positive directions. When intuition is flowing it is likely your life is too. Manifestation blooms around you. In other words you can see it. Finally, intuition is creative. It can often seem baffling in what it says. This can happen because we don’t understand our own intuitive language or are just not ready. If something appears seemingly out of nowhere and addresses exactly what is needed in a kind, clear, or even a blunt way, it probably needs to be taken seriously. The language of intuition must be learned and this requires time and attention. The speed of life has a lot to do with our ability to work with and understand our intuition, especially in these fast and troubled times. The faster we go the less we understand. Learning or relearning this language means we must for a period slow down to the speed of our inner selves.
